I like hearing that others feel that their paintings pull them along and begin to lead them as the paintings develop. It's a very difficult concept for somebody who doesn't create visual art, but, for the artist, it adds excitement and anticipation during the process and determines whether or not you "listen" well enough to achieve a good painting.
Patton, Thanks for your comment. When I started painting, I had to unlearn all my graphic design training about visualizing the finished product before I began. It took a year before I felt comfortable not knowing.
